Volunteer Spotlight - Alan Scott

Alan Scott

The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program of the Second Judicial District has selected Alan Scott as Volunteer Spotlight. Alan Scott is a retired science teacher from Greene County Tech. He decided that he missed working with children and joined CASA after hearing how CASA helped children in foster care reach the goal of reunification with their families. Once he completed training, he stepped up by accepting a case with 8 siblings and requested an additional case with 6 siblings. “He’s done an amazing job. Nothing rattles him and he is very organized. Alan researches the case, talks to DHS, visits the children regularly, and documents all information about those activities.” Stated Michael Graham, Poinsett County Advocate Supervisor. People like Alan are what makes CASA successful in our mission to serve children in foster care. Thank you, Mr. Scott!
